Staying steady
Being able to get out and about and stay active is really important, particularly as you get older. It enables you to keep doing things you enjoy and stay connected with people.
- Keeping active and taking regular exercise is important and has many benefits, even if you have been inactive for years
- Regular exercise helps to strengthen muscles and improve fitness, balance, stamina and suppleness at any age, as well as reducing joint pain
This all helps you to stay independent and keep doing the things you enjoy, as well as reduce your risk of having a fall.
This section will help you assess your general mobility, physical activity, strength and balance levels and offer appropriate activities and exercises to build/maintain your strength and fitness.
There will also be the opportunity for you to test yourself (which we hope you take) to see how you fare when it comes to strength and balance in comparison with other people.
